This is the first installment of my travel diary as I embark on the Rat Pack US tour. I’m writing I started writing this in the departure gate at Leeds Bradford airport, when about to board the 1st of my 3 flights today. The flights have been fine so far and as I write this I’m now in the Departure lounge at Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey.
The day got off to a slightly chequered start though. I had to leave for the Airport in Leeds at 4.30am. I booked a Taxi last night and thought no more of it. When it hadn’t arrived by 4.35 I called the Taxi firm to be told that he couldn’t locate any of his drivers in my area. I waited for a few minutes but in the end had to cancel and drive to the Airport myself. I’m somewhat dischuffed that the Airport parking I’ve ended up in will cost me about 5 times as much as the Cab fare. Not best pleased as you’ll imagine…
Anyway, I should go and check on my last flight down to San Antonio. I’ll leave with a little tourist information; What’s the best thing about Newark? (either the UK or US one will do) It’s an anagram of Wanker!!! Not in the best taste but it’s keeping me going just now….
