I’ve just learned of the passing of Maynard Ferguson; the legendary Trumpet player. He died on Wednesday 23rd August 2006. He was 78.
Surprisingly, considering my approach to the Trumpet, my love for Maynard’s music developed quite late; only in the last 2 years or so. He has been an extraordinary influence on me as he has been on so many others.
Rest in peace Maynard. You will be missed…
I have just learned about the passing of one of the greatest Trumpet players of all time. I am very saddened by this. He is my idol and just the way that he played the Trumpet was just jaw dropping and made me want to better myself. He will be deeply missed!! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
